| After School Program |
Each Wednesday afternoon after school children from the three local elementary schools are offered a time of tutoring, fun and spiritual enrichment from 4 - 6 p.m. Volunteers help children with their homework, have a time of recreation and then a time of devotion each week. |

Angel Food Ministries
|
This is a low cost food distribution ministry to help everyone stretch their food dollars. Each month, we receive shipments of restaurant quality food that is boxed and sold to local families at an affordable price. | Dare to Care |
Each week we collect canned goods and paper items for the underprivileged of our area. This ministry shares a headquarters with Jeffersontown Area Ministries. |
| Eyeglass Outreach |
This is an effort to collect used eyeglasses and process them through a local group - Kendall Optometry Ministry - to be reconditioned and distributed through missionaries going to third world areas. |
| Habitat for Humanity |
We have co-sponsored 4 Habitat houses, and while we haven’t sponsored a house recently, we always encourage members to be involved in local Habitat projects. Click here for more info. |
| Hospital Hospitality House |
Every evening Hospital Hospitality House of Louisville provides a hot, home cooked meal to the residents of HHH who are staying here from out of town while loved ones are hospitalized in Louisville. |
| Jeffersontown Angel Tree |
This is a Christmas project that brings help to local families during the holidays. |
| Jeffersontown Area Ministries (JAM) |
This is a cooperative effort of our area churches and the city council to help the needy of our community with practical help such as rent assistance, prescription drugs, utility assistance and food and clothing. Learn more on their website, www.jamtown.org. |
| Jeffersontown U.M. Child Development Center |
This is one of the most vital mission outreach ministries we have. Over 50 families find safe and loving care for preschool children in a Christian environment. We have a staff of about 20 and can accommodate up to 60 children for full time care. For more information, check out their web page. |
| Lighthouse Walk |
This is another walk-a-thon to support an after school program in the Newburg area of Louisville. |
| Methodist Mountain Mission |
Once a quarter we send collected items to the Methodist Mountain Mission to be processed and sold at one of 9 thrift stores across the state. These stores are all operated in the most impoverished areas of Kentucky. |
| Mission Education |
United Methodist Women School of Christian Mission held each summer at Lindsey Wilson College. |
| Music Ministry to Nursing Homes |
Each month several of our musical members take their voices and talents to local nursing homes. They go somewhere different every time but spread God’s love through music and sharing to seniors of our area. |
| Portland Promise Center |
Our United Methodist Woman purchase pajamas for the children of the Portland Area and distribute them through the Promise Center - a United Methodist mission here in Louisville. Our aluminum can recycling also serves to benefit the Promise Center. |
| Red Bird Mission |
Each year a group of our members go to Red Bird Mission or Henderson Settlement, mission projects in eastern Kentucky, to do home repair projects and offer help at the mission. |
| Scouting Ministries |
We currently host three Girl Scout groups in our facility which reaches out to young girls of our community. |
| Side Door Ministry |
Once a month we provide over 100 sack lunches which are passed out to homeless and hungry people of downtown Louisvile. We prepare these lunches and take them to Fourth Ave. UMC for distribution. |
| Souper Bowl Sunday |
This is a youth fund raiser for Jeffersontown Area Ministries which goes to support prescription drug expenses for local elderly. |
| Tape Ministry |
Each week we record our services and deliver tapes to shut-ins who want to participate in worship as best they can. |
| Twisted Stitches |
This is a group of crafty people who spend time working on knitting and crochet projects for cancer patients and shut-ins. They meet once a month for learning new techniques and trading ideas. |
| UMCOR Kits |
United Methodist Women put together health kits, school supply kits, flood kits, baby supply kits, and sewing kits to have on hand for distribution in impoverished and disaster areas all across the world. |
| Wesley Community Center |
We provide several volunteers for this outreach ministry. They provide a clothing closet, daycare and job training and placement for people coming off of welfare. We also participate in walk-a-thon fund raiser for the Wesley Community House. |
| Youth Mission Trip |
Each year the youth have made a trip to places like the UMCOR Sager-Brown Center and the Mountain Mission distribution headquarters . This gives our youth a perspective of world-wide mission work and the importance of being involved. |
