SNOW POLICY
As a rule, normal amounts of snow will not affect our having Sunday morning services at JUMC. IF SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES ARE CANCELLED, THERE WILL BE A SPECIFIC MESSAGE ON OUR CHURCH ANSWERING MACHINE TO SAY SO. If there is any question in your mind, please call before you come. The normal message means we ARE having services. There are many of our church family who are close by and have little trouble getting out in inclement weather. However we do not EVER want you to put yourself in jeopardy to come to church. You know the roads in your area and your personal limitations and comfort levels with driving in snow. Use common sense in arriving at your decision about coming to church. Don’t stay home just because a couple of snowflakes give you an excuse to get some extra sleep. But, by the same token, don’t get out on a dangerous road in your neighborhood and risk harm to you and others just to prove how hearty you are. Sunday evening or weeknight activities and committee meetings are more likely to be affected by snow, but will be judged on an individual basis. YOUR COMMITTEE CHAIR WILL LET YOU KNOW ABOUT EVENING COMMITTEE MEETINGS.
Some of you have called and the answering machine has not picked up. We have two lines in the church office, so if the answering machine doesn’t kick in, it means someone else is listening to the announcement on line 1 and your call has been rolled over to line 2. Please call back again to hear the recording.
